Sharing why I skipped NYFW, some of my favorite photos from Pursuit of Portraits meet, and outfit details.
NYFW is one of the biggest events for designers, models, bloggers, journalists, and media outlets around the world. And… I skipped it with no regrets this year.
Many people don’t know this but I actually work full-time as a hybrid designer developer for an E-commerce company. Additionally, I consider my blog a full-time job. However, the hours into my blog and Instagram all happen after 5pm on weekdays and all day on the weekends. During NYFW, I faced the dilemma of either attending shows or creating content for projects. The choice was easy; I chose my blog and personal projects.
The thing with fashion week is, “no one is looking for you there but people are looking for you when it comes to your content and blog”, as said by a good friend. I totally agree with his words. Although it would’ve been a great experience to attend, I know there are more chances to go next time. Instead of regretting that I couldn’t go, I’m more excited to share what I’ve been working on! But I’ll share that when the right time comes.
Aside from that, my adventure this weekend included being a guest model at the Pursuit of Portraits meet! My outfit in this post was actually what I wore and I’ll list all details at the very end of this post. I met a lot of people, shot with some photographers, and had a great time. Below are some of my favorite shots.
