Discover food, smoothies, ice cream, and some cats in Manhattan’s Chinatown.

The places listed below are some of my personal favorite places to visit in Chinatown (Lower Manhattan, NYC).  If you’re ever in the city and haven’t checked out these places, I definitely recommend it.

Meow Parlour

Meow Parlour in Chinatown

46 Hester St, New York, NY 10002 – $

Meow Parlour is the first cat café I’ve ever been to and it was a really cute, quiet, and relaxing experience. Most of the cats were really friendly and let you pet them while they’re sleeping.  These cats are also available for adoption which is SO SO awesome! Before you go, make a reservation first though because it can get pretty busy so walk-ins don’t always work.  It’s only about $6 per 30 minutes to play with these cats.

Thái Son Pho

Thai Son Pho in Chinatown

89 Baxter St, New York, NY 10013 – $

Get your pho fix at here. The broth of the pho tastes very authentic and they’re pretty generous with the portions of noodles and meat. Probably one of the best pho I’ve tasted in NYC.  Another place I recommend is called Pho Vietnam.  It’s pretty good too but the portions aren’t as generous as Thai Son Pho.

Xian Famous Foods

Xian Famous Foods in Chinatown

45 Bayard St, New York, NY 10013 – $

Xian Famous Foods is where Chinese and Middle Eastern flavors meet. Every dish they have is very flavorful and spicy.  My favorite dishes off of their menu are spicy cumin lamb burger and spicy Asian cucumber salad.

Corner Store Smoothies

Corner Store in Chinatown

Between Canal & Rutgers St – $

This place is such a hidden gem.  It looks like a regular corner store but they sell smoothies! Their smoothies are very fresh and you get a HUGE portion for only $5-$6. (This is the smoothie place on my Instagram)

The Original Buddha Bodai

Buddha Bodai in Chinatown

5 Mott St, New York, NY 10013 – $$

The Original Buddha Bodai serves Chinese vegetarian food and it tastes SO good. Even if you’re not vegetarian, I recommend trying it out.

10 Below Ice Cream

10 Below Ice Cream in Chinatown

46 Hester St, New York, NY 10002 – $

I think a lot of NYC natives and visitors have already tried out this place but 10 Below Ice Cream is seriously one of the BEST.  Their lines are long but well worth it.  I like how they make our ice cream right in front of us and it tastes as good as it looks.  This will probably be the only ice cream place I’ll never get tired of.

My list is pretty small right now because once I find a place I like; I usually stick to it until I get tired of it.  If you have any recommendations or any other places to add onto this list, please leave a comment and I would love to give it a try.  ☺️

Hopefully this list will grow and expand more so I can share more of my favorites of Chinatown with you next time.

Aw! Where are you from? I think every country, city, and place has their own special spots so I’m probably missing out on something amaaazing from yours.

I listen to all kinds of music from rap, kpop, rnb, and batchata. Nothing very specific like a favorite artist though.

      Thanks so much 🙂

      • You probably haven’t heard of my country.
I’m from Bulgaria, which is in Europe.
        Really far away from NYC…
Actually I’ve recently moved away from my hometown and now I’m in the capital of my country and I’m exploring it and looking for cute little spots like yours…

Yes!! Try the pineapple and mango mix!

  6. Hi Hang! I visit NYC from time to time yet I still haven’t tried 10 Below, lol. Have you tried Chinatown Ice Cream Factory? They have a variety of good flavors to choose from. Also check out Mei Li Wah bakery for their pork buns. I’m not sure if you like bubble tea but you should definitely try Boba Guys as well (it’s on Canal street)! They use natural ingredients in all of their drinks. Hope you like NYC so far!
